Emily Long is an attorney and writer in Sevierville, Tennessee.  Her article, 'Let's Talk About Sex[ting], Baby':  A mens rea-centered approach to the sexting issue in Tennessee, was published in the University of Memphis Law Review.

Emily holds a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Literature from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (summa cum laude).  In undergrad, Emily also majored in Medieval Studies and graduated as a member of the Chancellor's Honors Program.  She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where she was a staff member of the University of Memphis Law Review, as well as a member of the Moot Court Board.

While in law school, Emily was active in and out of the classroom.  She competed in New York Law School's Robert F. Wagner Labor and Employment Law Competition in 2011 and 2012, in which her team placed in the Top Eight in 2012.  She was also named one of the Top Ten Best Oral Advocates of the Freshman Moot Court Competition.  Emily was also President of the McKellar Chapter of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.  She received the Dean's Distinguished Service Award in both 2011 and in 2012 for her extracurricular volunteer work.

Emily was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2012.  She is a member of the Sevier County Bar Association, the Knoxville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
